This is me

I am Dirk, I was born in Lübeck in 1980, grew up in Bad Schwartau, after a short period of residence in Münster I moved to Hamburg and then back to Schleswig-Holstein. In summer I am trying to spend a lot of time in the van and on the surfboard and in winter on the snowboard.

Besides other board sports, traveling is my biggest passion. I am an organizer of surf and snowboard trips for small groups and initiator of the charity wakeboarding event “RIDE WITH FUN”. Besides my main job as Account Director Digital at the Hamburg-based creative agency Philipp und Keuntje GmbH I am running a small clothing brand called “BALY”. Here I sell among other things shirts, hoodies, caps and prints everything by hand using screen printing in my attic. Per sold item three euros will be donated in equal parts to the Clean Ocean Project, KIDS Kenya e.V. and Hanseatic Help e.V.

I love the water. But also the land. I take every opportunity to do something for the very first time. So you get in touch with a lot of things and sports. I got stuck with some, like surfing and snowboarding. When I was learning to surf in Portugal and visited the FATUM Surfboards factory, I vowed to buy my first board there when I was ready. Sooner said than done.
