This is me

My name is Jochen Schümann, I am a PE teacher, professionell sailor and was born in Berlin. My origin lays in the olympic sailing sport where I participated in six olympic games – three time olympic gold medalist (´76, ´88, ´96) and one time silver medalist (2000).

 

After that I won the America Cup with my team, Team Alinghi (2003 , 2007) and I carry numerous world and european championship titles. Since then I have sailed waters all around the globe in all sorts of boats. From small sailing boats to 30-meter-yachts. I also work as a self-employed consultant for the sailing sport and the marine industry.

Sailing is a three-dimensional game of chess. A strategy-driven game with a nature constantly changing it.

Sailing is a great sport with so many aspects to it, which allows pros and amateurs to perform it together. Sailing is the most beautiful thing in the world.
