You’re windsurfer and on the hunt for a cool short trip? Jump on a plane and head to Giens, France. At 24 degrees and perfect conditions for windsurfers – my father and I visited Giens in France last time by accident. We wanted to try something different and after two months of very wavy Tenerife it was about time. First thought: Right to the Mediterranean Sea where you find a mild climate almost all year for a “relaxed” session of water sports. And it went, how it was destined to go – “a friends friend” showed us his perfect spot. Giens is a still a quite unknown peninsula for water sports directly by the Côte d’Azur. Five minutes driving distance from Hyères and you’re at a real secret spot. Sheltered bays, a sleek sea and thanks to the mistral great weather conditions in the spring.
How do I get there?
Get right to the next airport and book a flight to Hyères! The French mini-airport is located directly by the peninsula Giens. Get off the plane, rent a board and run right in the water! Do you have plans for this weekend already? From Munich to Hyères the short trip is going to cost you around 900 Euros. As a real bargain, there are flights to Nizza that start at a prize of 180 € and that’s only a 2 hour drive.

STATEMENT
Windsurfing is my passion, since I’ve been a little kid. Right now I’m on the hunt for extraordinary spots. I’ve found a great spot for a couple of relaxing days in Giens – the mixture of flat waves and whistling winds is amazing.
