A fitness device which is a video game at the same time! With this new invention, even technical nerds are lured to sports. Burning calories and even flying through the air – this is possible with “Icaros”.The new sports device “Icaros” was developed by the Munich boys Johannes Scholl and Michael Schmidt. The user gets into a virtual reality by VR glasses – and with those, he “flies through the air”. While doing so, he balances his body on the rack of the machine that can be moved in all directions. When the weight is shifted to the front, you get into a dive. Just five minutes on this fitness machine are as exhausting as a round of jogging! The inventors are currently represented at various trade fairs, because “Icaros” should not only be seen as a game but as the first virtual reality fitness machine. The idea from 2011 has now become a start-up with a series-ready model, which will be delivered to the first customers from March 2017 onwards.
