PWA Surf World Cup Podersdorf
INSPIRED EVENTS
One last time the PWA Surf Worldcup took place in Podersdorf, Austria. Talented surfers, a great atmosphere and supportive visitors were part of the event.
ABOUT
With more than 100.000 visitors the PWA Surf Worldcup in Podersdorf beat it’s own records. There had never been so many visitors before. Although the wind conditions were not ideal at all days, many surfers were able to show off their skills.
Scenestar and six-times-world-champion surfpro Jose “Gollito” Estredo from Venezuela made it on place one. After a relatively bad year, he took the 7th crown in a row right on the first day.
The level of freestyle delivered in Austria was higher than ever and left close to no room for mistakes. All participants showed amazing skills.
At amazing weather conditions the numerous guests could admire a whole lot of cool tricks and the after parties in the evening were a major success.

NICE TO KNOW
After 18 years, this year is the last for the World Cup in Podersdorf. The contracts with the city are running out. In 2017 the organizers want to start the event in Neusiedl – one a few kilometers away. The negotiations are actually running….We are curious about the outsome.
