Just two more nights! On Friday, September 29th, the Mercedes-Benz Windsurf World Cup in Sylt starts. 156 athletes will compete in disciplines such as wave, slalom, freestyle, and foil. Find out more about the event!
From 29th of september until 08th of october the Mercedes-Benz Windsurf Worldcup takes place in Sylt. This is an official stop of the PWA World Tour. 156 athletes from over 30 countries and 5 continents have already registered for this event. On the Brandenburger Strand in Westerland, they will compete against each other in disciplines such as Wave, Slalom, Freestyle and Foil to collect points for the World Cup or to win the prize money that is worth 120,000 € in total.
Phillip Köster, is considered as a favorite in this competition. After a serious knee injury, which the 23-year-old had suffered during a training accident in autumn 2016, he celebrated his comeback this year and climbed again to the top. He has already won the World Championship title three times – which is why fans expect much from him.
And you can also look forward to Lina Erpenstein, the current best windsurfer of Germany.
But the Windsurf World Cup offers more than this. Every evening from 18:00 o clock on, one can celebrate in the event tent on two floors. In addition, there are some exhibitors, who represent their cool products. So you can stroll around a bit besides watching the windsurfers. And if you are hungry there are also some food trucks, where you can buy delicious food.

If you are close by, you should not miss this event. The best is: To visit the event you only need a guest card from Sylt, which is 4 € per day.
