Kiteboard 4 Cancer 2016
NEWS
Mid July 2016 the 10th annual “Kiteboard 4 Cancer” festival takes place in Hoodriver, Oregon. Hundreds of kiteboarders and visitors attend the event to raise money, awareness, and to celebrate life.
The focus of the event is a 6-hour endurance kiteboarding race that challenges all attendees physically and mentally. (But no worries, everyone can attend and the participants don’t have to complete the full 6-hours on the water. The most important thing is taking part – more than victory.)
However, the race is designed to embody the battle of someone suffering from cancer. Participants and spectators fundraise in advance of the tournament to raise money for the “Athletes 4 Cancer’s Camp Koru Survivorship Program“.
For the festival weeekend, there will be 10 different bands playing over the three days, great local food, Kids’ fun, a live auction, and two days of kiteboarding, windsurfing and on-water celebrations.
