The new Thermo Rogue is designed to move faster, further and easier on a wintry adventure. The challenge was the weight. The idea was to design a new winter hiking boot that offered the best in protection and slip resistance while being very lightweight.

Thermo Rogue – Perfect for a winter hike

“We continue to see a convergence of trail running and mountaineering. We knew that we had to find the perfect boot for this. Our aim was to save as much weight as possible while at the same time providing premium protection in harsh weather conditions.” , said Merrells vice president Steve Workman, hiking area.

The Thermo Rogue features state-of-the-art PrimaLoft® Airgel Gold Insolation, which is ultra-lightweight and provides warmth in extreme cold weather. The integrated GoreTex® membrane guarantees dry feet with very good breathability. To maintain traction in rapidly changing winter conditions, it requires a custom outsole.

Save for wind and weather

The result is a sporty hybrid boot for every season, hike and weather. In April 2018, Merrell athletes Mike Chambers and Jason Antin will test the new Thermo Rogue – at the field test in Greenland on the Arctic Circle Trail.

The combination of a highly durable compound especially for wet, icy ground and exclusive design of the profile guarantees grip on ice, snow and mud.

For all others, the Winter Hiking Boots will be available from autumn 2018 with high and medium shafts. We are curious!
