The new e-folding bikes from Blaupunkt have it all!
Spring is just around the corner and maybe even a new bicycle? Because Blaupunkt brings us three new e-folding bikes with optimized LCD bicycle computers, even more powerful brakes, more powerful rear engines and a new battery management system for optimal driving performance.
The new family members Carla, Clara and Carl
Three new folding bicycles with electric drive are now on the market: the 16-inch “Carla 190” bike, the 20-inch “Carl 290” and the “Clara 390”, the 20-incher with low access. Riders are kept up to date thanks to the LCD bike computers with backlighting, which offer a larger display and more functions than their predecessors. They clearly display information on speed, total distance, driving distance, driving time, support level, pushing aid, engine power, battery level and much more. The contrast can be individually adjusted for optimum display, and the computer switches itself off automatically after driving.
For more safety, strong Tektro brakes, bright headlights with 30 lux and reflective tires from Kenda. The latter are equipped with a puncture protection – so the bike tour can no longer stop a flat tire. Maintenance-free, brushless 250-watt rear motors with 50 Nm provide power and even more driving pleasure, the new 36 V / 13 A control provides the right kick. All three bicycles are developed in Germany and produced in the EU. The high-quality components, powerful engines and the attractive price-performance ratio played a decisive role in the development.

The new City-Bike “Clara 390”
The Blaupunkt “Clara 390” is an elegant city bike with a low step-in for a particularly high level of comfort. It comes with a removable and lockable Li-Ion battery with LG cells, which scores with 36 V and 8.8 Ah as well as an intelligent battery management system. Together with the powerful 250-watt rear engine, “Clara” delivers a range of up to 70 km. The pedal assistance is provided in five stages up to 25 km/h. In addition to a Shimano 7-speed gearbox, Tektro V brakes are also on board.
In spite of the fully-fledged luggage carrier and mudguards, the Arctic white bike can be folded in a matter of seconds, because the pedals and the aluminium stem of the electric bicycle can also be folded. In total, “Carla 390” weighs only 19.5 kg and measures 810 x 460 x 690 mm when folded. Colour-coordinated handles and the saddle in cognac colours add the finishing touches.
The smallest and lightest “Carla 190” model
The new “Carla 190” with high-quality Selle Royal saddle will also be launched. The Arctic-white electric folding wheel is the smallest and lightest model in the Blaupunkt pedelec family. The 16-incher can be folded to 830 x 460 x 605 mm and is therefore somewhat flatter than its siblings. It weighs only 15.5 kg. Like its relatives, the electronic bicycle has a 250 watt rear motor with 36 V and pedal support in five steps and up to 25 km/h. The bike is equipped with a 250 watt rear motor and a pedal support. The LG battery with 36 V and 7.8 Ah as well as intelligent management provides a range of up to 60 km. The power supply completely charges the small speedster in 4 – 6 hours.
Big brother named “Carl 290”
One size bigger turns “Carl 290” around the corner. In elegant black and with a light aluminium frame, the 20-inch bicycle cuts a fine figure. Like the other members of the family, it is folded in a flash and measures only 925 x 540 x 720 mm with a weight of 19.2 kg. In contrast to its little sister “Carla 190”, “Carl 290” comes with disc brakes and a 7-speed Shimano gearbox.

Alle drei Räder erfüllen die Anforderungen der StVZO und haben eine maximale Zuladung von 110 kg.
Ab KW 18 sind die E-Faltbikes von Blaupunkt im Handel. Die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung für „Clara 390“ liegt bei 1.499 EUR, „Clara 190“ gibt es für 1.349 EUR und „Carl 290“ radelt für 1.449 EUR mit.
