If it gets much too warm in summer at the gym, but you still don’t want to do without your workout, then the best alternative is Power SUP Yoga. Together in a group you sweat on the paddle board in the water and can work on your summer tan at the same time. The biggest advantage of this sport is that the balance and the deep muscles are additionally challenged.

In the meantime, SUP (Stand Up Paddling) has become a widespread sport. Standing paddling on the surfboard is easy to learn and a lot of fun. Shoulder, torso and back muscles are trained on the shaky surface and you are always in harmony with nature. The new trend sport combines stand up paddling with yoga. Skill, balance, coordination and body awareness are in demand.

How does one hour of Power SUP Yoga work?

The trend sport is suitable for beginners as well as for advanced athletes, because no previous knowledge is necessary. The water component contributes to the thrill of not wanting to fall into the water. Step by step, the individual yoga positions are built on each other and with time and practice, the asanas (resting body postures) that seem difficult at first become easier to master. At the end of the lesson you can regenerate in the Savasana body posture and simply float on the water.

At which location can I practice the sport?

The Spree in Berlin offers the ideal opportunity for a city dweller to escape the everyday stress of the city through the natural elements without having to travel far. In Berlin there are even several providers of trend sports. The Stand Up Club Berlin is one of them. Right in the heart of Berlin, you can do sports together and enjoy the view of the city at the same time. The standard price for one hour is 20 Euro. If you already own your own board, you can bring it with you and pay only half the price.

Of course, Power SUP Yoga can also be practiced at all lakes in Germany. Lake Starnberg, for example, is a popular place for SUP Yoga fans. The SUP Club Starnberg offers SUP Yoga classes every Saturday and Sunday. A course lasts 1.5 hours and costs 35 Euro. The whole musculoskeletal system is challenged and you can still let your soul dangle on the water.
