SUP World Cup – 3 in 1
INSPIRED EVENTS

In contrast to the last couple of years, where the SUP World Cup in Germany took place exclusively under the organisation of the Watermen League, this year the contestants were able to collect points for the national ranking.
ABOUT
An overview on how the event is composed, is documented here:
To keep the status of an international top-event, a world cup, yet for another year, we cooperate with Watermen League and are a part of the SUP World Series, consisting of six different events. The contestant with the most points in total can call himself the world champion at the end of the season.
Hawaiian Kai Lenny is the defending champion, who could defeat his everlasting rival and compatriot Connor Baxter. The women’s champion is Candice Appleby from the USA.
The German participants can score double at the Mercedes-Benz SUP World Cup. It’s the first time that our event is a part of the German SUP Challenge (GSUPC), being the german Stand Up Paddle Championship with 32 tourstops for the last six years. Therefore, the challenge is the biggest Stand Up Paddle event series in Germany. The flexibility of the drivers is the most important thing about it. At the four steps so far, the paddlers compete in the disciplines Technical Race, Wave and Sprint as well as Long Distance. Who wants to be in a leading position, needs a wide range of skills. Kai-Nicolas Steirner and Noelani Sach were able to make it last year and could dominate the German SUP Challenge, celebrating their titles as German Champions. The second time in a row.
Since the GSUPS contests take place under the roof of the SUP Alliance Germany (SUPAC), the participants were able to collect points for the German SUP League at the same time. The SUP League is the SUP federal division of all connected unions and associations inside the SUPAG. With around 26 SUP events within the 2016 season it is the worldwide pioneer for organized SUP Sport. The German athletes came in 6th in the international ranking 2015. Everyone who has fun competing in SUP championship sports can attend.
Good for us and good for the audience, coming to watch hard-fought and high-class championships.
May the best man/the best woman win!
