RK1 – the sickest crew in snowboarding

NEWS

Never heard of RK1 in snowboarding? Well, either you are a beginner, which is totally fine, or you should star reading this news right now!

Snowboarding never stops – that´s why we are always trying to keep you updated about facts & news coming out of the snowboard world, even during the summer time. Alek Oestreng, Ståle Sandbech, Len Jørgensen and Olav Stubberud, proud members of the RK1 crew, are giving us the awesome occasion to present to you this sweet part of the new TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine movie “Insight”. The four Rome pro´s basically grew up together, riding together everyday when they were young, This is when the crew RK1, formerly known as “RKN”, was born. RK stands for Rykkinn, the place they grew up together in Norway. Speaking of Norway – this is what the “N” stands for. Saying it out loud in Norwegian the N sound a lot like “one” in English which presented the perfect opportunity to name the crew RK1. It also stands for creativity and in somewhat for a snowboarding bond, because riding alone simply sucks.

Of course and like in every story that´s about growing up together, the daily trips to the slope in Norway has become a rather rarely situation. Everyone of the riders has a professional career as a snowboarder going on which makes the time span to shred together a really small one. But, because the RK1 crew and the friendship between the four kept being strong and in tact, they all meet up for a big session once or twice a year. The video below features all of them in one clip and can be considered one of the sickest clips this year, having not just old friends together once in a while, but also giving us the great delight to see four absolutely sick riders together at one spot!

Have fun and make sure you check out the upcoming movie “Insight” available November 1, 2016 on iTunes and more.
