Porsche European Open Bad Griesbach 2016

From September 22 to 25, this year’s Porsche European Open take place at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach in Germany. After the premiere in 2015, also this year the world’s best golfers will compete four days long in Europe’s biggest golf resort. Although this event will only happen in about 2 weeks, we already now want to whet your appetite for this great golf event.

Soon, it’s time again for one of the biggest golf events in Germany: in only two weeks time, the Porsche European Open will take place in Bad Griesbach. Like the year before, also in 2016 this huge event will happen in Europe’s biggest golf resort. Last year’s tournament was an outstanding success for both the Golf Resort Bad Griesbach and the sponsor Porsche , who also this year are the organizer of this event. To make sure that also this year’s event will be a great success, the greenkeepers and workers do their best in order to provide the best greenfees and build up a wonderful venue. Also this year, the quality of the event has to meet the high demands of both the golf-pros and the visitors.

During last years felicitous premiere, the Beckenbauer Golf Course has proven to be a perfectly suited golf course – also for such world class mega events. The atmosphere of last year’s event was overwhelming, which also was due to the high numbers of spectators, who came to the tournament in Lower Bavaria.

 

In 2015, more then 25.000 golf enthusiasts attended this golf tournament in Europe’s biggest golf resort and admired the skills of world-renowned stars like Hunter Mahan, Graeme McDowell and the German veteran star Bernhard Langer. Also this year, the list of participants is filled with famous names: Marcel Siem, Paul Lawrie, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Robert Karlsson – to just name a few. With such global super stars, the visitors can expect four thrilling rounds. Moreover, the German golf star Martin Kaymer will also attend this year’s Porsche European Open, after his absence last year has been heavily criticized, which means it is the first appearance of the 31-year old golf pro at this tournament.

This year’s winner of the Porsche European Open will be awarded with the notable amount of 333.000 €; the overall prize money for 2016 amounts to 2 million Euros. All in all, 156 golf players will show their skills in Bad Griesbach, including 15 German pros like Maximilian Kiefer, Bernd Bitthammer and Florian Fritsch. Unfortunately, Bernhard Langer will not be able to take part this year tue to a clash of appointments.
