Famous mountain bike disciplines

Whether speed, endurance or acrobatics – the mountain bike sport is versatile. This is also reflected in the MTB disciplines.
Freeride
There are no limits in freeriding. Because that is exactly the origin of this discipline. Away from competitions and time measurements, freeriding is all about riding and jumping wherever you want. That’s how the Freeridebikes are designed. They are similar to downhill bikes, but a bit more flexible, so that they are mostly designed to ride uphill.

Trial
The Trial is a great experience for the acrobats. Here the riders have to overcome difficult terrain or artificially created obstacle courses. The Trialbike is characterised by a very low frame height and only a suggested seat to offer more freedom of movement. In addition, there are only a few gears and a rigid fork.

All Mountain & Trail
This is not about competition but simply about finding beautiful trails. Whether uphill or downhill, versatility is everything in all mountain biking. And that’s how the bikes have to be built. They have to be all-rounders. That’s why most trailers are also equipped with fullies.

Enduro
The reward comes after work. This is probably true for Enduro in particular. Because here you first climb the mountain and then race down in the best downhill manner. Only in recent years has this form of mountain biking established itself as a competition discipline. The Enduro bikes have a 120.160 millimetre suspension travel and are dual creatures. On the one hand they are stable but on the other hand they are easy to get up the mountain.

Four Cross
The Four Cross will be spectacular. When four starters race over an obstacle course at the same time, action and excitement are pre-programmed. Always the two winners go one lap further. As bikes, hardtails are used with a suspension fork with 100 millimetres of suspension travel.
