How e-sports is revolutionizing the field of sports

No wonder that more and more sports clubs integrate this field into their programme. Like in reality also in the virtual field there are competitions and championships – for amateurs as well as for progamers.
E-sports is more than just pure gaming
Who thinks that electronic sports is just video gaming, played by couch potatoes and stay-at-homes, is wrong. The field of e-sports is quite a challenge for the players. Beneath the general skills, which are needed for a computer game, the player needs diverse mental and physical capabilities. Primarly the hand-eye coordination, perseverance and high reaction speed have an important function to succeed in the competition. Also spatial orientation, tactical orientation, forward thinking and a good game summary is demanded from the gamer.

Formula 1: In future also with a virtual champion
In view of steady rises a the digital network in general there’s no wonder that the field of sports deals more and more with the topic e-sports. Like e.g. Formula 1, where has long attracted criticism because not the best driver wins but the best car. That’s why the racing series founded an offshoot in the field of e-sports. In the future there will also be a virtual champion because in november the title “champion of Formula-1-esports-series” will be conferred to the best virtual driver.
Becomes e-sports olympic soon?
To get the Olympic Games more attracted to a younger audience, trend sports like climbing or skateboarding are integrated in the programme. Slowly but surely there are discussions to integrate competitions out of the field e-sports as well. Last year, while the Games in Rio, e-sports competitions where organized in the frameword programme. Although there were no Olympic medals, the first step has been taken. The last word regarding to the inclusion of e-sports though is still by the International Olympic Committee – the prospects are exciting and it seems to be only a matter of time.
The acceptance and involvement in the field of e-sports by traditional sports clubs is steadily increasing. Also top football clubs meanwhile has own departments for this virtual field of sports. Teams like Galatasaray, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and any others has already a own e-sports team in use.
