We are already quickly approaching the end of this year, and so we had an interesting interview with our expert Youri Zoon. We asked him to recap the last year for us and wanted to know what he thinks about the past events and the upcoming last tour stop of the World Kiteboarding League in New Caledonia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>IBS TEAM:\u00a0Let’s begin with a little recap of the last event stop at Fehmarn. Are you, giving the sadly bad weather conditions, satisfied with your performance?<\/strong>Youri Zoon:<\/span> <\/strong>Unfortunately the wind was not that good but beside that I really got the feeling of the new format and worked with it. I made it to the final with decent scores an well ridden tricks. So if felt good about my performance at the event.<\/p>\n

IBS TEAM:\u00a0Let\u2018s stick to the recap for one more question: You are always really involved as a rider in the action and event around the contest, how do you like the development of this year’s tour?<\/strong>Youri Zoon:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>It has been a very interesting year! Unfortunately not a lot of events, but this year was the\u00a0foundation for next year! We made an investment with the riders in going for quality and from there we move to next year where we can have quality and quantity\u00a0together. So I am pretty happy with all the results we made.IBS TEAM: Looking ahead at the upcoming grand finale: How did you prepare for it and how does your routine change with your experience over the years?
\n<\/strong>Youri Zoon:<\/span> <\/strong>My routine is the same, I\u2018m still the same, I just wanna go out and show what I\u2018m made of and what I can do. Last months I have been back and forth to brazil to train there and work on tricks. A fight you can only win by winning it.IBS TEAM: The experience you have: What are your thoughts on the current standings and the chance for an amazing grand finale in new caledonia?
\n<\/strong>Youri Zoon:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>It\u2018s gonna be a good one! I saw Alex and Bebe have been training hard as well and they both want it really bad as well. So I guess we gonna give it all!IBS TEAM: Do you expect something new or different from your competitors?
\n<\/strong>Youri Zoon:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>Since I saw them in Brazil I kinda know what they can do and where the strong and weak points are. So I have to anticipate on it.IBS TEAM: In case you win the world title, what\u2018s next for Youri Zoon? Is it going to be a different situation if you can\u2018t claim your third world title?
\n<\/strong>Youri Zoon:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>If I win – that would be the goal I have been training for! If I don\u2018t – I need to train harder and try to get it next year.IBS TEAM: And the last question: How do you spend your Christmas holidays?
\n<\/strong>Youri Zoon:<\/span> <\/strong>Just before christmas I will be back home and be with the loved ones.<\/p>\n
