Sansibar is a beautiful island by the East-African-Coast.<\/p>\n

Paje is located at the eastern coast of the island. Perfectly shallow water at low tide, a little squabble when the water is leaving or a clean wafe at the riff.<\/p>\n

There are two seasons on Sansibar. Since the island is a little east of the equator, the summer season is during our winter (mid december – mid february) and the winter-season (end of may – end of september). Between may and september the winds are constant and strong. Therefore the girls often use 9sqm kites. On the other hand during the season from december – february they use larger Kites. Sadly you can always be unfortunate and have 5 days of light winds or short rain showers in the mornings. In that case it takes some time for the winds to stabilize. The wind is always side-onshore.<\/p>\n

STATEMENT<\/h5>\n

On the beach of Paje there are a couple of kiteschools, that teach in the two lagunes. The first lagune becomes dry at low tide and you have to go a little further tot he second lagune where the water is (especially at low tide) like a mirror. Three hours before and after the flood, there is a clean wave over the the riff, that is just around 800 metres from the coast. The riff is so far down, that you don\u2019t touch the ground even in a big rinse cycle and can\u2019t get hurt.<\/p>\n

The best way to reach Sansibar from germany is to fly there with Condor over Franfurt.<\/p>\n

As an alternative, some airlines offer flights to Dar-Es-Alam. You can reach Sansibar from there via a small plane (traveltime around 15 mins) or a fery (around 2 hours).<\/p>\n

ACCOMMODATION<\/h5>\n

The accomodations are right by the beach and cover the entire coast. Depending on your personal preferences, if you like hotels, apartments or private accomodations, you can find the perfect holiday-housing between Jambiani and Michamwi.<\/p>\n

ALTERNATIVES<\/h5>\n

If winds, waves and at extreme low tide even the water are gone, and keep you from kiting, surfing or stand-up-paddling, the hotels offer tours for diving, sailing around the island, dolphin swimming, spice-farm visits to see turtles or trips to the capital Stonetown. Active alternatives to watersports are rare. Apart from that there is a 9-hole-golfcourse on the westcoast of the island.<\/p>\n

The best alternative for all the watersports are the many different partys. There is something going on every night: Live music in Jambiani, a beachparty at the Michamwi or Paje, costume-parties in Paje or just a nice beach barbeque with a couple of friends.<\/p>\n
