Big waves surfer Sebastian Steudtner has finally arrived at the top
NEWS
The rise of Sebastian Steudtner, who is a big-wave surfer, is simply impressive. After some ups and downs, which some of them were of a personal nature, but also had reasons in the sport itself, he has finally arrived on the big stage.
If you have followed Sebastian Steudtner in media recent years, a lot happened since initial appearances on regional television or a newspaper article which had a maximum of half a page. The guy from Nuremberg is now one of the best big-wave surfers in the world, has performances on television at Markus Lanz, renowned sponsors and above all: he owns the respect of the entire big-wave surf community in the world!
Steudtner topped even unofficially – in the end it was felt a thumb – the record for the highest ever ridden wave. It is extremely hard work to achieve this – you need some luck, but also a touch of recklessness. Big-wave surfing means every time much more than just “surfing”. It’s about more than just to live the surfing lifestyle. It’s about survival in almost all trips and tours.
The town Nazare in Portugal has catapulted the popularity of Steudtner: There is, on the one hand the previous highest wave ever been ridden – on the other hand Sebastian has also set his record in Nazare. The World Surfing League (WSL) has a separate category for the big-wave surfing and in this context, of course, a well-attended Youtube channel. To get an idea of Steudtners crazy everyday, we can just recommend that you watch the video below and read further this Story of him.
