The year is finally drawing to an end – high time for a review of the most sensational happenings. The tennis season started off with an incredible finish at the Australian Opens in January. Followed by a spectacular summer that tennis fans are not going to forgot in the near future. All in all, a breathtaing tennis season. We summarized the most important happenings.  

The tennis season started with an incredible finish from Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne in January. It seems like the momentum of each player still building up from the one to the next competition. Die French Open 2016 took place in Roland Garros from 16 May to 5 June and hardly no Grand Slam tournament has enchanted the spectators. The Wimbledon offered again pure excitement in London (especially at the Ladies Final, where Kerber defeated Williams after an amazing match). In August, the tennis elite competed for the highest trophy money of every tennis tournament – 43.6 million dollars were overall in the pot of the US Open. So, the winners of the men’s and women’s singles could each take home 3.5 million dollars. There’s never been so much!
