After eight successful years as President of the USA, Barack Obama was finally able to enjoy some time off and visited his friend Richard Branson in the Caribbean. Finally, it was time again for Obama to present his water sports skills. Branson was willing to teach him kitesurfing – but obviously only by setting up a friendly challenge. The former US President had to learn kitesurfing while the British entrepreneur challenged himself by learning how to foilboard – what a challenge!

After his last days as a president, Barack Obama had finally time to enjoy life to the fullest. Together with his family he flew to the Caribbean to visit the British entrepreneur Richard Branson to spend some days on his private island “Moskito Island”. The managing director of Virgin owns a few islands in the Caribic Sea, amongst others also the “Necker Island”.

During his tenure, Obama wasn’t allowed to enjoy any sports activity that seemed to be rather dangerous. As you can see in the video below, he obviously had a blast at trying out new action sports. Branson didn’t go easy on him and set up a friendly challenge immediately.

The deal: The former US president had to learn kitesurfing while the British billionaire challenged himself by learning how to foilboard. One thing was clear: The one who managed to stay on the board the longest was the final winner.

In the beginning, Branson was about 50 meters ahead, but Obama caught up fast and won the competition. Obviously, he was full of joy.

STATEMENT

One thing is clear: It will be only a matter of time when we can admire Obama on the water again.
