ANNELOUS LAMMERT: THE NETHERLANDS, EUROPE AND THE WORLD IN 2016?
Dutch kitesurfer Annelous Lammerts was almost able to steal her compatriot Katja Rooses slalom-crown last year – We want to know a little more about this girl!
Annelous, born in November of 1993 in Schuddebeurs, the west of the Netherlands started kitesurfing pretty late. Inspired by a family friend, who was working at a kitesurf-teacher at the time, Annelous starter her career at 16 and took only 4 years to take on the title as the european champion.
Annelous had to train hard for this impressive success. Daily practicing at the famous kite- and windsurfspot Brouwersdorf at any weather conditions were a part of that. Right where the current windsurf freestyle world champion Dieter Van der Eyken prepares for the season. While others spent their time in front of the fire place during the cold time of the year, Annelous Lammerts spent her first winter as a kitesurfer on the board and worked on her skills. All of her efforts and her great talent were recognized by the guys from Mystic and the fact that she reached the surfspot on a 17 km bike ride almost every day, made the team sponsor her quickly.
Last year, the Dutch was crowned „Rookie of the year“ and was able to win the world cup in Slalom and freestyle in Germany. All over, Annelous came in fourth, after Gisela Pulido, Karolina Winkowska and Bruna Kajiya.
Annelous – An allround-talent, not only on the water!
Besides from the athletic competition, Annelous has started working in the technical kitesurfing-world as well. She very much enjoys the opportunity to work together with her sponsors in product design. Plus, Annelous has founded her own company together with a friend. SIS (sea is Snow) sells selfmade hats, beanies and headbands online. We’re excited for everything else coming up this year.
