America’s first Surf Park has opened – finally!
NEWS

The time has come: Now that some starting difficulties have been solved, America’s first artificial surf park just opened its gates in Austin, Texas. No matter if you’re an expert or a newbie in the surfing game – they’ve got the perfect wave for anyone.
Until now, living in Austin, Texas made surfing very difficult as there is no coast nearby. But that problem is no more – because of NLand Surf Park. It is the first artificial surf park, consisting of a large two-part pool that offers ocean-like waves of any height. So no matter if you’re just about to start your surfing career, or if your a real pro, you’ll have a great time there.
Anyhow, things started out a little difficult: In July, the park faced a lawsuit because it did not meet required health and safety standard that apply to public pools under state law. But this problem has been solved brilliantly: The park uses bio-filtration and a rainwater channeling system. This way, it doesn’t only fullfill all requirements, but is also ecofriendly as it does not use the region’s precious water resources – not even during droughts.
Besides the pool, there are some more things to discover. The park hosts a shop where you can get the latest surfboards and accessories. And because surfing makes people hungry, a restaurant is included in the park as well. The best thing about it: NLand’s environmentally friendly approach can also be seen in its kitchen, as it sources ingredients from local farmers around Austin.
