5 steps how to learn the kiteboarding trick TANTRUM
NEWS

One of Alberto „Alby“ Rondina’s favorite kiteboarding tricks is the tantrum. You can learn this now in only five steps!
As a basic you should be able to do a unhooked frontroll. The tantrum is normally performed with one hand and unhooked, but as a start you can practice it hooked. Before the take off make sure you move your front hand in the middle of the bar and put your kite to 45 degrees.
Step four is to let go the back hand as soon as you leave the water. At the same time you have to initiate the rotation by moving your head up and look up to the sky. The rotation actually feels very similar to a backflip. Remember to open up your shoulders. Last step: as soon as you see you’re coming down to the water, just pull in with your arm and land with your board. That’s it!
Overview of the 5 steps:
- Unhooked frontroll
- Hooked tantrum
- Front hand in the middle and let go back hand
- Look up
- Pull in and land downwind
To keep the trick stylish just remember to strech your body as much as possible and then later on you can add for example bland landings.

Just try to do it by yourself! You will see that it will work. Maybe you will have to try it several times – but it is worth it!
