In October 2016, the Hawaiian John John Florence secured the WSL World Championship title prematurely. Now the US brand takes the 24-year-old world champion under contract and is pleased to have the Pro Surfer now officially in their team, after he had already denied the season with accessories of the surf and lifestyle brand.

After a successful year for the Pro Surfer John John Florence, Dakine takes him under contract. Dakine is also pleased to sign the contract. The US brand plans a signature series with surf leashes, surfpads and boardbags. Florence has been known to Dakine since he was five years old. At this time, he was already called the next surf wonder and graced different magazine covers. At the age of 24 the young Hawaiian is regarded as one of the most formative pipers in the world. Because of his premature WSL Championship title, it was his most successful season of his career.
