Another highlight of the year was the participation at the Olympic Games, which was still highly controversial in the previous year. The ISAF International Sailing Association planned to replace traditional windsurfing with the Kitesurfing. After the windsurfers went to public, the plans were canceled. However, there was still no incomprehension, why not both discipline can be Olympic.
